Family Meeting

On Saturday we went to our auntie’s house to have a meeting. It was about our grandfather’s 80TH birthday. We talked about what we are going to cook. They asked my mum if she could bake 10 pineapple pies and cook butter chicken and salad. We are going to have it at his house in Maybury St. My sister and my cousins had to think of presents to give him. My big sister is buying the cake. My aunties had something each to cook and bring. It is going to be a lovely birthday.

Mark and the salty sky

Mark was having his first holiday in the country. In the morning he was having fun, but when bedtime came Mark could not go to sleep. He felt his way along to the curtain. He opened it. There were no street lights and no lights from cars going by. Mark called out to his dad and asked him to please turn on the light. But his dad had a better idea. He said to Mark, “Come with me and I will show you something special.” Mark did not mind going in the dark with his dad. It was quite exciting. When they got past the passage and the bush. His dad said, “Look up to the sky.” What did he see? Stars! Not bits of stars. There were hundreds and thousands and millions and billions and trillions of stars. “Gosh,”said Mark. “It looks like someone sprinkled salt on to the sky.” Mark went off to sleep thinking about the starry sky. When Mark went to eat has breakfast he asked his dad if he could have are very dark blue plate. So his dad gave him the plate. Then Mark sprinkled the salt on the plate. His dad smiled. “Ahh!’’ he said, “I see!”

Possum Magic

Once upon time there were two possums and their names were Hush and her Grandma was Poss. Hush asked her grandma if she could make her invisible. Then her grandma made her invisible so she could be safe. What adventures Hush had. She could be squashed by Koalas. She couldn't be seen if she slid down the Kangaroo’s tail. She could hang from trees and could not be seen by the snakes.
Hush wanted Grandma Posh to make her visible but it did not work. Then she had to eat some food to make her visible again. Hush ate a vegemite sandwich in Darwin and her tail appeared. Then she went to Perth and ate pavlova and her legs were seen. Next she went to Hobart and had a lamington and it worked. She was visible again.
